Job Title: Sr. Data Architect:

Rate:  $55/hr

Location:  Eagan, MN

Duration:  3-4 months

 

Candidates for this Information Architect position will create wireframes, interaction models, and application flow diagrams. The Information Architect will work with other Visual Designers, User Researchers, and Product teams to transform requirements and user research into user interface designs.

 

Local candidates only. This position is not for programmers, software engineers, database developers, or system architects

 

Information Architect – Contract Position

 

Thomson Reuters West is looking to hire an enthusiastic Information Architect to create engaging and attractive user interfaces for WestlawNext. We are seeking a passionate individual to help us create products that will allow our customers to understand and manipulate large amounts of complex information. The ideal candidate is someone who is not only technically competent, but also has a great aesthetic design sense and enjoys having fun working with a team on exciting projects.

 

Requirements:

• 5+ years experience with information architecture of complex websites, intranets, and/or web-based products and services
• Significant experience developing interface mockups, wireframes, flowcharts, prototypes, and style guides
• Portfolio of work
• Solid understanding of principles of information organization and user interface design
• Demonstrated ability to document complex designs
• Thorough understanding of web technology and desktop software
• Willingness to experiment with new designs and interactions
• Knowledge of fundamental design principles and disciplines that affect typography, color use, animation, composition, use of space, distribution of information, etc.
• Excellent writing and verbal skills
• Ability to build consensus and justify decisions
• Strong presentation skills
• Excellent time-management, multi-tasking ability, and the ability to prioritize
• Ability to quickly understand and communicate complex system and design concepts
• Experience designing and prototyping user interfaces with Visio, InDesign, iRise Studio, Axure, or similar tools
• Familiarity with HTML, JavaScript, and CSS design capabilities

 

Preferred Education, Experience, and Capabilities:

 

• Degree in information science, information design, human-computer interaction, anthropology, cognitive psychology, or related fields
• Experience designing or developing RIAs
• Visual design skills are a plus
