Work Location: Fredrick, MD

Duration : 3 months+

Rate: DOE

The Developer DBA should have experience in designing and supporting a development environment. The database design will change depending on the changes in the product.

1)      SQL Server 2005

2)      Assist with issues relating to system performance: Diagnosis of Microsoft SQL Server problems, Application Support and SQL Support

3)      Database design experience

4)      Data warehousing experience

5)      Data Modeling experience

6)      Experience writing reports

7)      Experience developing SQL stored procedures, views, triggers, and functions

8)      Ability to develop data-extraction programs accessing various source files and databases

9)      Familiar with Microsoft SQL Server performance monitoring and optimization

Job Description:
The MS SQL Server DBA is part of the Product Development Team and maintains the infrastructure and applications from a database perspective. The DBA is responsible for supporting the development, testing and production environments for MS SQL Server and other relational database technologies.

 

Core Responsibilities:

·         Configure, deploy, maintain, tune and monitor all database instances in development, testing and production environments

·         Maintain and monitor database security and backup/recovery systems

·         Install and configure database software, tools and patches

·         Develop programs, queries, stored procedures, views, triggers and functions

·         Assist with issues relating to system performance: Diagnosis of Microsoft SQL Server problems, Application Support and SQL Support

·         Work in a collaborative development environment, providing assistance & technical guidance to less experienced team members

Work Experience and Core Competencies:

·         5+ years experience in Microsoft SQL Server administration

·         Experience developing SQL stored procedures, views, triggers, and functions

·         Ability to develop data-extraction programs accessing various source files and databases

·         Familiar with Microsoft SQL Server performance monitoring and optimization

·         Ability to perform standard DBA tasks: backups, routing maintenance, security administration

·         Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or a related field
